Beli karton: a foreigner's first step
Beli karton (white card) is the registration of your place of residence. It must be done within 24 hours of arrival. Hotels register you automatically; in a rented flat, the landlord must register you with the police.
Tips
- Without a beli karton you cannot open a bank account, get a health insurance card or apply for a residence permit.
- If your landlord does not register you, ask them to — it is their legal obligation.
