Accusative case (akuzativ)
The accusative answers "whom?" and "what?" and marks the direct object. After the nominative it is the most frequently used case, and with u/na it expresses movement towards a place.
Examples
Vidim banku.
I see a bank. (banka → banku)
Idem u grad.
I'm going into town. (grad — accusative)
Kupujem hleb.
I'm buying bread. (hleb — accusative)
Tips
- Masculine nouns for things do not change in the accusative: grad → grad, hleb → hleb.
