Nominative case (nominativ)
The nominative answers the questions "who?" and "what?" and is used for the subject of a sentence. It is also the form you find in the dictionary.
Examples
Banka je ovde.
The bank is here. (banka — nominative)
Student uči.
The student is studying. (student — nominative)
Tips
- If you are unsure which case to use, the nominative will usually still be understood.
