How to politely refuse

A flat "ne" sounds harsh. Softer options: "Hvala, ali ne mogu" (thanks, but I can't), "Drugi put" (another time), "Nije mi potrebno" (I don't need it), "Možda neki drugi put" (maybe some other time).
