Serbian Cyrillic vs. Latin
Both alphabets are official and fully equivalent. Government offices and courts use Cyrillic; the internet, advertising and everyday texting mostly use Latin. Street signs are often in both.
Examples
Beograd = Београд
Belgrade — one word, two alphabets
ulica = улица
street
Tips
- Serbian Cyrillic has one letter per sound, just like the Latin alphabet, so it can be learned in an afternoon.
