Strpljenje: patience and queues
Queues exist in Serbia, but are not always strictly followed. Government offices, banks and post offices often use ticket numbers; at the market and in pharmacies people queue in person. Patience (strpljenje) is a valuable trait.
Tips
- In government buildings ask the guard at the entrance: "Gde se uzima broj?" — where do I get a number?
- Don't let it get to you — getting irritated won't speed things up.
