Imati: to have (imam, imaš, ima)
Imati (to have): imam, imaš, ima, imamo, imate, imaju. It expresses possession, age and "there is": Ima li…? = Is there…?
Examples
Imam pitanje.
I have a question.
Ima li slobodnih mesta?
Are there any free seats?
Nemam vremena.
I don't have time.
Tips
- The negative is one word: nemam, nemaš, nema, nemamo, nemate, nemaju.
- "Nema" also means "there isn't / there's none" — a very common word.
