Gospođo and gospodine: addressing strangers
Gospođa (Mrs, madam) is used for an adult woman, gospodin (Mr, sir) for an adult man. When addressing someone directly, use the vocative: "Gospođo, izvinite…", "Gospodine, možete li…". It is polite, especially with older people.
Examples
Izvinite, gospođo.
Excuse me, madam.
Gospodine, imate li trenutak?
Sir, do you have a moment?

- In government offices and clinics, "gospođo / gospodine" goes down very well.
