Handshakes and greetings
When meeting for the first time, people shake hands. Between friends, three kisses on the cheeks are a typical Balkan greeting.
Tips
- Don't be surprised if a new acquaintance leans in for a kiss on the cheek — it is a friendly gesture.
- In a formal setting a handshake is enough.
